Fans anxious to see the Ducati 1199 Panigale in anger on the race track in 2012 will have to be content with the FIM Superstock championship. Ducati have said they don’t plan to homologate the 1199 for World Superbike competition until 2013. In the meantime, they have shown us what a Superstock spec Panigale looks like at the EICMA show in Milan, where the new model was released last week. Our friends at Asphalt & Rubber took some snaps.
Showing off its bare aluminum tank, race spec bodywork and full termignoni race exhaust, the 1199, like all racers, looks even more of a weapon than the already aggressive look of the street model. The parts will all be available from your friendly Ducati dealer.
