It took over five years to style the car into perfection that involved hundreds of drawings, scale models and eight two-size as well as keeping the basic design concept. The Huayra is fitted with bi-xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights, rear bumper with integrated diffuser and four tailpipes.
The Pagani Huayra monocoque is built in carbon-titanium with its gull-wing doors that accommodate some most of the roof portion. The tank is located at the most protected of the camper behind the pilot, reinforced by a safety cell made of different composite materials and ballistics. The Huayra weights at 1,350 kg thanks to the weight reduction program.
The Pagani Huayra is powered by a a Mercedes-Benz AMG 6.0-liter 60-degree V12 biturbo engine to produce over 700 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque. The two radiators ensure best cooling efficiency of the intercooler. The Huayra’s cooling system is designed to operate in temperatures above 50 degree Celcius. The supercar is also fitted with a large 85-liter tank to ensure a longer range travel while the fuel efficiency is controlled by a microprocessor on each of the two power pumps that send fuel to the engine.
The titanium exhaust system installed was engineered by MHG-Fahrzeugtechnik where its hydroformed junctions were developed to reduce pressure and ensure a free flow of exhaust gases. The full exhaust system weights less than 10 kg.
The power is transferred to the wheels via the Xtrac 7-speed sequential gearbox cross and a dual-disc clutch. The entire transmission system weights 96 kg.
The Huayra is fitted with independent suspension system with double arm that provides 30% weight reduction
