In an interview alongside his father Graziano, for Italian TV show Le Lene last month, the elder Rossi said that his son is following the WSB championship with interest and would race a superbike after two to four more years in MotoGP.
Now the two Flammini brothers behind the championship, Maurizio and Paolo have joined in by claiming that the desirable racer will be coming to one of their series in the future, but it is more likely to be their Superstars touring car championship.
"I don't know if Rossi will come to WSBK, but I'm convinced we will have him in our family soon enough, in our automobile racing series," Maurizio said in an interview with Italian magazine Riders, as quoted on GPOne.
"MotoGP wants to try and be like Formula 1, but without Rossi they would be nowhere. But superbike hasn't copied anyone, and indeed some of the car racing series have actually copied us. Flammini Racing has organized the Superstars series for a few years now, and there are five former Formula 1 drivers on the grid, and nine different manufacturers. The paddock is completely open and fan friendly, and the racing is very exciting."
Rossi's move to World Superbikes could be motivated by the success of Carlos Checa and Max Biaggi who became champions in their late 30s, Ducati's proven record in the series along with rekindling a hard-fought rivalries.
