All Show Car in USA,The 2012 Detroit auto show was so busy that the near lack of debuts at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show may have given everyone a false sense that no new cars were coming to the 2012 New York auto show. New 2013 BMW X1 at the 2012 New York Auto Show

The X1 has been on sale for years in Europe; it gets updated for its U.S. introduction and it will arrive in dealerships this fall. Two models will be available: all-wheel drive xDrive35i versions will use a 3.0-liter 300-horsepower twin-turbocharged 6-cylinder and rear-wheel drive sDrive28i and all-wheel drive xDrive28i models get a 2.0-liter 240-hp twin-turbocharged four-cylinder. The latter engine features stop/start and regenerative braking systems to optimize fuel economy. EPA numbers haven’t been announced yet.

The sDrive28i and xDrive35i will be offered exclusively in the U.S. market. The BMW X1 sDrive28i starts at $31,545, the X1 xDrive28i at $33,245 and the X1 xDrive35i at $39,345. All prices exclude an $895 destination fee.

Land RoverNew 2013 Range Rover Evoque Convertible Concept at the 2012 New York Auto Show

Fresh from its debut last month at the Geneva International Auto Show, the Range Rover Evoque convertible concept makes its U.S. entrance in New York.

The convertible is based on the coupe version of the new-for-2012 Range Rover Evoque compact SUV, the smallest in the automaker's lineup. The concept seats four and features a power-retractable soft-top and a rollover protection system. The concept rides on 21-inch Titan silver wheels, and the exterior is finished in metallic Causeway Grey paint. Specifications weren't available, but Land Rover says "the new convertible body style has been achieved with minimal changes to weight and torsional rigidity."

The inside is trimmed in lunar- and ivory-colored leather with sport seats featuring contrast stitching. An 8-inch dual-view touch-screen and a Meridian stereo are other cabin highlights. Access to the cargo area is through a drop-down tailgate rather than the traditional model's hatch.

Land Rover says the convertible is just as off-road ready as its fixed-roof counterparts, thanks to its four-wheel-drive hardware, including the Terrain Response system and surround-view camera.

Don't expect to see this on the streets anytime soon. Land Rover said the convertible concept is a design and engineering study with no plans to produce it at this time.

New 2013 Volkswagen Alltrack Concept at the 2012 New York Auto Show

Volkswagen's luxury brand, Audi, has a history of building off-road-ready wagons with its Allroad line; VW follows suit with the debut of the Alltrack concept. The car is based on the Passat Alltrack sold in Europe, but Volkswagen says the concept is only meant to gauge reaction and not intended for the U.S.

Despite plastic cladding around the wheel openings and revised bumper styling, the Alltrack remains more wagon than crossover in appearance. To improve the car's off-road potential, Volkswagen has increased its ground clearance by 1.2 inches, added steel skidplates to protect the underbelly and fitted the car with an off-road-driving program for the 4Motion all-wheel-drive system.

Available at speeds up to 18 mph, the off-road program modifies the intervention threshold for the antilock brakes, shortens the reaction time of the electronic differential locks to limit wheelspin, and reduces the sensitivity of the gas pedal for better control at low speeds.

Power comes from a familiar source: Volkswagen's turbocharged 2.0-liter diesel engine. The four-cylinder makes 140 horsepower and 236 pounds-feet of torque and teams with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The 2013 model will feature the same 3.6-liter V6 engine making 288 horsepower, though Tony Disalle, vice president of GMC marketing said the new Acadia will benefit from a new Hydra-Matic 6T70 six-speed automatic transmission that will improve efficiency and driveability.

The standard Acadia gets a new exterior design featuring LED lighting and standard projector beam headlamps or optional HIDs. Plus, it’s hard to miss the more flat-fronted grille and boxier fender flares, style elements borrowed from the popular Traverse.


Inside the Acadia gets new seats, plus a standard color touch radio, Bluetooth and a backup camera. Optional goodies include GM’s Intellilink system; a version of the MyLink telematics interface found on Chevy products.


There are also new standard safety features, including an industry-first front-center airbag that deploys during a side-impact crash to keep font seat occupants safe from one another during impact.


The Acadia Denali model comes standard with blind spot detection and cross traffic alert systems, both of which can be added to the standard model.


Aside from standard safety features, the Denali model features GMC’s “three dimensional polished grille”, which glistens with chrome. The interior gets a few extra touches as well, with richer-looking wood trim around the shifter than the standard model.

Dubbed the Urus, the concept SUV would be Lamborghini's bid to cash in on the booming global market for high-end luxury SUVs -- if customers can accept the strange blend of supercar angles and racing tires on a high-riding hatchback.


While Lamborghini has flourished with new models under its ownership by Volkswagen, profits have remained elusive. With Porsche thriving thanks to its Cayenne SUV, other automakers now wonder just how big the market for people movers with some off-road capability might be; BMW keeps adding to its already full range of luxury SUVs, while Lamborghini stablemate Bentley's idea of the EXP 9F concept shows the dangers inherent in the concept. Lamborghini execs have said they have yet to win approval to build it -- but given demand for big vehicles in China and the Middle East, that seems like a formality ahead of a 2017 arrival.


Unlike Bentley, Lamborghini has a history with trucks; the LM002 SUV set the mold that the Hummer H2 would attempt to fill two decades later. The Urus -- named for the ancestor of modern bulls in Spain -- looks nothing like the LM002, drawing its styling from what a four-door Aventador might look like and its underpinnings from either the Cayenne or corporate cousin Audi. Many details such as specific engine choices remain under embargo; we'll have the full story on the Urus this weekend, but until then you can debate whether a Lamborghini SUV stands as a savvy move or just a lot of bull.

Modified Truck Ford Stallone '55 By West Coast Custom

West Coast Custom-For the few of you who’ve never heard of West Coast Customs, it’s a car remodeling company that started in 1993 by Ryan Friedlinghaus in Los Angeles, but has since moved to Corona, California. They gained celebrity level popularity by being on MTV’s hit show ‘Pimp My Ride’. When Sylvester Stallone needed a custom ride for is new movie ‘The Expendables’, West Coast Customs stepped up to the plate.

The custom 1955 F-100 that West Coast Customs built is just one of the many stars of this new action film. It also features Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Jet Li, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, Terry Crews, Randy Couture and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Stallone’s request was for three 1955 Ford F-100′s but they had a hard time meeting this demand because it’s such a rare vehicle. Instead, they started with three 1956 F-100′s and worked around the clock to give them the appearance of ’55s. All three vehicles were painted a sleek flat black which fits the personality of the movie to perfection. To give the west coast truck the power it needed for the chase scenes, they added a 347 stroker engine from Edelbrock along with a B&M equipped AOD transmission and a Gibson exhaust. Obviously the original suspension in this truck wasn’t going to fit the bill so they pulled that and added a Heidts Mustang II front suspension kit and a Heidts 4 link kit outback with a Ford nine inch axle.

The crew at West Coast Customs was able to complete the project on time and within budget. The truck will be featured on an episode of Street Customs this season. Unfortunately, only one truck was in prime condition when filming was completed and it will be added to Stallone’s collection.
