SSC Tuatara super sports car

SSC Tuatara - a new environmentally friendly super sports car (1)
The new SSC Tuatara, its name is inspired by some kind of reptile in modern New Zealand. Tuatara as a unique creature, it has the world’s fastest evolving DNA, and as one of the world’s most outstanding supersports car manufacturer, SSC is the same, this can be described as quite similar.
The SSC Tuatara will use a dual overhead camshaft 7.0 liter twin-turbo V8 that is estimated to redline at 9,000 rpm and deliver 1,350 hp. The car will weigh just 1,200 kg or 2750 lbs (dry weight) thanks to a carbon fiber construction (including the wheels), and aluminum crumple zones. This means it will manage a power-to-weight ratio of 1,125 hp per tonne.

The Tuatara is estimated to achieve 0–62 mph (100 km/h) in 2.5 seconds and the top speed is an estimated 276 miles per hour (444 km/h).[1] To become the world’s fastest production car, the final production version of the Tuatara will have to beat the 267 mph (431 km/h) set by the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport in 2010.
The SSC Tuatara will cost approximately $970,000 (£630,000, €730,000) when it goes on sale.
