Welcome to the most down S2000 ever built; OK, one of them at least. Autoblitz recently attended the J’s Racing Fair at Super Autobacs in Tokyo last week to get a closer glimpse at a couple of their machines. In attendance was their GT-Type wide-bodied S2000 done up in a style only J’s can get away with. Don’t be fooled though, this AP1 has more than just good looks and a tight body – click past the break to find out more.

Normally, I’m not that into widebody conversions, because I tend to enjoy the stock, OEM lines of vehicles; especially a car as well designed as the S2000. However, for J’s Racing, I think I can make an exception – although it comes at a price. If you think the TYPE-GT (Total Aero System) body kit looks expensive, you’d be right. At 567,000 JPY, you’d be dropping a cool $7,400 to be the hottest on your block.
.
Like most high quality builds in Japan these days, the Type-GT S2000 was rocking a set of Volk CE-28′s; 18×9.5J +15 wrapped in 255/35R18 up front, and an inch wider 18×10.5J +13 in 265/35R18 for the rear. Stopping power is amped up by a J’s Racing upgraded brake kit.

.
A detailed look at the front fenders. Supposedly the kit widens the car by 75mm in the rear and 60mm up front (just under 3 inches for you stateside viewers) – although it appears much wider. It is truly an extreme kit.

Looking at each individual section of the kit can be deceiving, as they are quite overwhelming aerodynamically when viewed alone. However, if you take a step back and view the car as a whole, the pieces flow together quite well. The most subtle piece of the kit might be the rear quarter panels.
.
As we make our way around to the…*ahem*…rear of the car, things get a little more wild. J’s makes note before you purchase that a normal exhaust system will not work with this car, and now you can see why. The rear bumper makes use of newly position muffler exits; most likely to flatten up the bottom.

A couple more shots from the back reveal just how wide this kit makes the car. Give me a shout if you want any of these in desktop sizes. I personally enjoy this one kkkkkkk ^^.
.
The SPL GT wing, not included in the kit, provides the remaining downforce needed to keep the rear firmly planted.
.
A couple basic interior shots reveal the simple modifications to the cockpit. J’s Racing weighted shift knob, Recaro bucket seats, and a couple important new switches by the ignition start button – and a Clifford alarm…which probably isn’t that necessary in Japan.
.
.
Alright, remember I told you that this car had more than just good looks? Well, here is it’s ‘ugly’ side; a 2.2 liter bored F series making over 320ps. Not overkill on the chassis, but just the right amount for a balanced track machine.
.
A combination of aerodynamic dominance, and subtle engine management makes this S2000 a dream for many people. It’s companies like J’s Racing, that have a vision more extreme than most, that continually push the boundaries of the industry. There creations are always a joy for me; I only wish I could see this car with a hardtop – now that would be perfect! hope you enjoy! Check out Autoblitz soon for some video footage.
