Six months after the Frankfurt Motor Show debut of its LF-Ch (shown in gold), Lexus is teasing a production version of the show car called the CT 200h. It’s slated for a world reveal in Geneva and is rumored to go on sale sometime this year.
It’ll be the first full hybrid in the compact premium segment and will compete directly with the likes of the BMW 1 Series and Audi A3. Power comes from brand’s second generation Lexus Hybrid Drive, a sister powertrain to the Toyota Prius. It’s expected to use the now well-known 1.8-liter gasoline engine that’s mated to an electric motor for a total of 134 horsepower.
Although it’s a hybrid, don’t discount its driving performance just yet, Lexus says. We’ll have to wait to get behind the wheel to justify that claim.
Check back for more as the Geneva Motor Show gets underway this March.
