The design of the 2013 Lexus GS has been a tightly guarded secret. Much like, say an actress who’s recently received a nose job, Lexus has been keen to keep the design of its new GS on the down-low until it’s good and ready to unveil it to the world. Unfortunately for Lexus (and countless actresses), sometimes it’s just hard to keep a secret. Lexus was so close too – with the official unveiling of the GS just days away at Pebble Beach, China Car Times has burst Lexus’ bubble and published spy photos of an un-wrapped 2013 GS 350 in the middle kingdom.
While we’ve driven the 2013 Lexus GS before, we’ve never actually seen one completely devoid of camouflage. Not surprisingly, there isn’t anything particularly groundbreaking about the GS’ design. The most prominent feature on this GS 350 would have to be the twin chrome bars on either side of the grille, flanked by LED headlamps. Otherwise, the all-wheel drive model pictured here looks like an attractive, yet more conservative take on the controversial LF-Gh concept from last year’s New York International Auto Show. From what we can tell, the GS 350 loses the LFA design cues from the LF-Gh concept – although that’s not to say they won’t return when Lexus unleashes the GSF in the future.
Check out the China Car Times’ spy photos in the gallery below and let us know what you think of the new GS. Stayed tuned for the 2013 Lexus GS’ official unveiling at Pebble Beach, you best believe we’ll have the photos.
