New 2012 Daihatsu Terios


The Daihatsu Terios is a production by the Japanese car maker Daihatsu, a company partly owned by Toyota. As such, the second generation Terios has been co-developed by Toyota and Daihatsu. It comes as a mini SUV which first entered the market in 1997. The car uses a modified engine of the Daihatsu Charade, a 1.3 L which uses either a four-wheel drive or two-wheel drive. Transmission options include the 5-speed manual transmission and the 4-speed automatic transmission.
The Terios has a boot capacity of 380 liters and dimensionally, the mini-SUV measures 4055mm in length, with a height of 1810mm. Its ground clearance which makes it a champion on the outdoors is an incredible 255mm. The width of the Terios Min-SUV is at 1695mm, and has a licensed mass of 1490kgs. The SUV takes inside the front bonnet, a longitudinal inline 4 cylinder engine and it uses a 5-speed manual transmission. Daihatsu provides a favorable warranty and service plan of 75,000km. Oil change interval is set at 15,000km for the best performance and longevity of the engine. It comes with a 3 year/100,000km warranty.
Average fuel consumption is estimated at 8.86 L per 100km. The engine uses unleaded petrol and has a tank capacity of 50 L, which is the basis for the 560km the mini-SUV can go before a refill. The engine is quite capable when it comes to power and torque generation. The 1.5 engine does 87kW at 6200 rpm and generates a maximum torque of 150Nm at 4600 rpm. Comfort and convenience is also real in the Terios. The aircon, front and rear headrests, the radio and CD player provides the basis for the joy and coziness in the mini-SUV. Other comfort features includes the power features, such as power steering, electric windows and remote mirrors. Other features to note on the Terios are the tinted side windows, tinted windscreen, the rear screen demister and rear screen wiper. The mini-SUV allows for the creation of more space for additional luggage due to the rear seat split function which allows for the seats to be folded and more space created in the interior.
At the base and core of the passive and active safety features portfolio on the mini-SUV are functions and features such as the alarm, a transponder for the engine immobilizer, airbags for the driver and passengers and the side airbags for protection from side impact. Daihatsu has also gone an extra mile in taking care of the needs of its drivers and passengers by providing a roadside assistance package.
