Last month we reported the new Ford Escape would become the first Ford vehicle to offer the choice of two different EcoBoost engines. The highly efficient turbocharged direct-injection petrol engines will be available in the Escape in 1.6- and 2.0-litre displacements.

2013 Ford Escape Prices $2,000 above comparable 2011s, ranging from $23,000 for a base two-wheel-drive model to around $36,000 for a top-trim no-plug Hybrid. The announced plug-in Hybrid might run close to $38,000, but will probably be in very limited supply for at least the first year.
