BMW have announced updated, special edition versions of the R1200GS, K1300S and K1300R for 2012. The R1200GS Rallye gets a special paintjob, including body parts in Alpine white and graphics in the legendary BMW Motorrad Motorsports colours. The 100-horsepower boxer twin engine remains unchanged, but the bike does get new cross-spoke wheels, heated grips, hand protectors in white, onboard computer and ‘Enduro ESA’ electronic suspension adjustment. The 2012 R1200GS Rallye will be priced at 14,950 euros and will go on sale in January 2012.
The 2012 BMW K1300S with HP Package is, according to BMW, ‘the sportiest representative of the BMW Motorrad K Series, combining sporting character and riding dynamics with a high level of comfort, lightfooted handling with absolute riding stability, and superior performance with perfect everyday practicality.’ Of course, the K1300S also offers a higher level of weather protection compared with something like an S1000RR and the 2012 HP Package model bears a brushed aluminium special edition badge, solid Alpine White/metallic Lupin Blue/solid Night Black colours and assorted HP carbon parts.
The highlights of the BMW K1300S HP Package, in addition to its 175-horsepower engine, are the HP gearshift assistant, Akrapović sports silencer, ESA II electronic suspension adjustment, ASC automatic stability control, RDC tyre pressure control, heated grips, tinted windscreen and an onboard computer. The bike comes with a paddock stand, is priced at 20,090 euros and will go on sale from January 2012.
The 2012 BMW K1300R, with its 173-horsepower four-cylinder engine and wet weight of 243kg, remains one of the hardest hitting sport nakeds. The 2012 models gets a special matt metallic grey / metallic black paintjob which, according to BMW, ‘emphasises the uncompromising masculinity of this beefy roadster.’ Ahem. The special model also features a high quality carbon engine spoiler, is priced at 14,910 euros and will go on sale in January 2012.
